"""Global warming"""Hi
I have a solution for global warming. Oxygen is a cool gas. And it can help cool down earth’s atmosphere. Plankton produces 3/4 of earth’s atmosphere. My idea is this: genetic engineer a plankton that can quadruple or higher oxygen production and also higher the rate of reproduction of the plankton itself. This can be done very simply. Simply add high expression parts in the oxygen producing gene and the reproduction gene. By this if the plankton can multiply very fast. it can be introduced into oceans or lakes and it will nourish the eco system and produce high amount of oxygen in few years. Thanks for reading let me know what you think. Regards Mehdi
So you are proposing to create a kind of super plankton that will cause generalized algae bloom in all lakes and ocean?
Besides the fact that one single kind of plant would certainly not be able to survive in all the different ecological niches, I strongly suspect that you have never seen the effects of an algae bloom on a lake? I do dragon boat racing in a lake that often suffer from those, and well the negative aspects are quite obvious. Patrick
Science has proof without any certainty. Creationists have certainty without any proof. (Ashley Montague)
This also perpetuates the myth that if something is good (oxygen in this case), then LOTS of it would be better.
Oxygen is really a non-player in warming, transparent to light and heat. What it is is very chemically active, so a rise in the atmosphere (which wouldn't happen that quickly anyway) would have all sorts of unforseeable effects. Using phytoplankton as a carbon sink is a fairly old idea, and doesn't require a new type of plankton. Application of the most-usable limiting factor (like iron) as a fertilizer would increase levels, although what the effects of that would be, we can't be sure...
Re: """Global warming"""Global worming is real as i am experiencing it..as i am feeling hotter year by year...i did not require heavy quilts for the last 3-4 years...so, it is real...but definitely not due to co2 rise...it is due to deforestation and urbanisation ( means cement, pavement etc) and population..
