Strange insect I've found

Postby Azedenkae on Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:44 pm

Ok so I visited my home country (Vietnam), and one day, in my house I found an insect in my room. So I took pictures of it and threw it out into my garden again. Since I forgot my wires, I can't connect my phone to my comp, so I'll give a description of it and hopefully post the picture soon. Basically, I am wondering if you guys can identify the insect.

Basically, the closest family I've found to it is the Mantis, but not that close. For one, the shape is different, or at least a bit. The 2 front legs are like the hind legs of this crab (Click here) but shorter and more closer-spaced. The two hind pair of legs are sort of normal-ish I guess. It has a pair of antennae and a tail like the silverfish, but its 2 instead of 3 forked.

It's eyes are big, kind of Mantis-like, but its body is light brownish, its body or thorax I'm not sure seems to be see-through-ish, and have blackish stripes.

I can't remember any thing else because I threw it out too quickly because my family was scared, so... yeah.
