Anyone have experience with M63 Minimal Media?

I tried making up a 5x stock solution of M63 and autoclaving it separately from the agar, and had white precipitate. I tried again, autoclaving everything together and the media turned dark (looked almost caramelized).
Anyone know what the media is supposed to look like and the best way to prepare it?

If I remember correctly You are suppose to autoclave separately 3 solution: salts (without MgSO4), Mg SO4 solution and Agar. Then you add the sterile MgSO4 to the sterile salts when they cooled down, and you add agar and water (both sterile) to complete when you need it.

Otherwise, I just realise, filter sterillization is another solution

Hi,
I've ordered M63 minmal medium . However, they mentioned that I've to add 10ml of 20% glycerol and 1ml of 1M sterile MgSO4 per liter. Is it necessary to add glycerol and magnesium sulfate?

Another question, what's the form of magnesium sulfate that one should use:the heptahydrate or the Anhydrous form.

That doesn't matter. Just be sure, that you have 1M MgSO4 solution, but noone cares whether you use heptahydrate or anhydrous. Anyway, the hydrates are usually better soluble.
