Beginner Biology I NEED HELP PLEASE PLEASE!!

Alright everyone....I'm taking my first biology course ever and I'm doing via distance learning....needless to say I'm finding it slightly difficult and am in need of some serious help!

I have a few questions regarding an assignment.

1) Drawing the atomic structure of Phosphorus 31 and 32 using the ring structure...now how can I tell how many rings there are supposed to be? and how do I know how many electrons...for example. My text says that the roman numeral above the column on table of elements tells you how many electrons on the outer shell...so does that mean that phosphorus 31 and 32 both have 2 on inner and 5 on outer? I don't understand when an atom has 3 or more rings (as is shown in other diagrams in the book)

My 2nd question is as follows,
why can phosphorus 32 be used to detect the presence of nucleic acid but not amino... is this because Nucleic is made up of sub-unit molecules including Phosphoric acid and aminos aren't?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....P.S. I'm not necessarily looking for direct answers but help in allowing me to figure out the answers myself. Thanks in advance....i will be posting more questions i'm sure!

Ohh... this is realy simple questions:
1 - Phosphorus plased under the nitrogen, so it related to fifth groupe and therd period, it is mean that it has five electrons at the therd electrone level (two s and three p), full set (8 electrons) at the second, and two electrons (full level to) at the first.
Phosphorum 32 can be used for detection becouse it radioactive, but amino acids can not be "taged" by such thing simple becouse it not contein phosporus at all!
And for electronic configuration (and chemical reaction) it is not significant if isotope 31 or 32 - at the both of them it will be same.
Evolution will arrange everything

which part, the chemistry part or the detection part?

them chem part is explained pretty clearly
the detection part is simply where DNA synthesis need phosphates, the radioactive ones are incorporated into the DNA. Proteins dont have P, so their synthesis dont incorporate the radioactive P

I am taking bio 12 by distance ed. And I have run into a few snags.

1. a place where the produscts of maltase action can be found.
2. The place where hyrochloric acid can be found.
3. The place indigestable food is stored.
4. The place where starch digestion begins.
The place where bile salts are made

putting activities in correct order.

1.Absorbtion of vitamins produced by obligate anaerobic.
2.Acid chyme is neutralized.
3.Digestion of starch by salivary amylase.
4.Glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream
5.Passage of bolus from thoracic cavity to abdominal cavity.

my answers are as follows:
c is1, e is 2, b is 3, d is 4, a is 5

i can't answer 1 but i can answer the rest.

STOMACH

RECTUM

MOUTH OR BUCCAL CAVITY VIA SALIVARY AMYLASE
5.The place where bile salts are made
LIVER

I also think the activities are not in order. shouldn't a be 3 b be 5 c be 2 d be 4 and e be 1?

PS..if any of these are wrong i'm truly sorry. these answers are based on what i've learnt in my textbook (i'm only 16 :))
