few questions about cell biology!!!can someone please help me with these. i have a final exam tomorrow and tryingto solve previous years' exam .. and was stuck on these. thanks.
The vesicle-forming protein associated with the formation of receptor mediated endocytotic vesicles is called __clathrin?_____________.
In a cilium there are characteristically ___9___ peripheral doublets arranged in a ring around ___?___ single microtubules. (You are only required to enter numerals.) The main protein in the basement membrane of animal epithelia is __collagen?___________. The principal chemical component of the bacterial cell wall is a large polysaccharide-peptide complex called __peptidoglycan?____________________. Secretory proteins leave the tER in vesicles coated with __clathrin?_________ RNA with catalytic activity is called a _ribozyme__________________. __Vincristine_______________ is a poison that is useful in the study of microtubules. Clathrin-coated vesicles could be produced in the trans ER/golgi as well as receptor-mediated endocytic vesicles at the membrane. The mannose-6-phosphate receptor is also a possible answer for either of the ones where clathrin is given. I don’t know which, if either, is correct. Caveat: I am not a cell biologist, and what cell biology I took was more than 20 years ago.
I believe there are 9 peripheral doublets around 2 single microtubules, if that helps. As always, I could be wrong.
