which kind?
and I was told it has to be the genus and species.

This salamander is very unique. :)
it is only found in a few states from Georgia, Alabama North to upper New York. It is one of the largest of the salamanders and it does not retain its gills as an adult.

No
But thats a cool salamander :)
the tiger salamander measures is 6-13 inches, occurs in the mid US, lives in ponds and surrounding areas, woodland, prairie, & sage brush.

this It is bigger than that, does not occur in the mid US and is entirely aquatic.

Amphiumidae?>NO

Genus starts with a C
Species starts with A

species name is a clue as to the region this can be found.
Also this is one of the largest of the salamanders mezasuring 1-2 feet or more. It could probzably win the ugly contest too :lol:
