Yes, but since some of the threat to bacteria comes in phage form, REs work well for chopping up strange DNA "somehow" (go figure) gets injected into the cytosol. Sure no Igs or anything, but it functions as a rudimentary immune system....sorta....

Yeah, I understand that. But very rudimentary. And as I said not taught in the immunology classroom (where I was mostly dozing, if not sleeping), that I remember a lot more about it.
