development of pigments and chloroplastshey, I really need help on how the development of pigments and chloroplasts changed the fundamental lifestyle of earth
thanks
Umm.....they made oxygen for animals to breathe? Different pigments in chloroplasts attract different wavelengths of light and are involved in different steps in photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a very complex reaction. If I recall correctly, if every single step to photosynthesis is written out, it would take up enough paper to fill a library =)
I think you should know that not every organsim has pigments in chloroplasts. At algae they are located in chromatophores and at cyanobacteria in inclusions of the cellular membrane
