Immature red blood cells each contain a nucleus, containing DNA. However, upon maturation they then lose their nuclei (due to certain proteins disposing of it), with this they lose their DNA. They do this to make more room for carrying oxygen and also making them flexible enough to pass through tight capillaries. Red cells don't replicate either, they are formed from stem cells in the bone marrow and differentiate into red blood cells, going through phases such as the nucleated immature cell. White blood cells contain DNA as they have a nucleus and also form from progenitor cells and differentiate into certain blood cells. Hope this helps. x
