anyone hungry??I was thinking about it today, because i was hungry and the noises in my stomach were starting up... why do we get pains? what makes our stomach ache? and does it mean we are necessarily hungry? what makes the noise?
does anybody have a clue... i have some ideas but id like to hear yours
Re: anyone hungry??
I'm not sure about all your questions, but I know that the noises made are called borborygmy, it's always fun to impress people with that word ha. And it's made by your stomach churning when it is empty. Also the stomach has stretch receptors that tell you when it is full or empty. So borborygmy doesn't necessarily mean we are hungry, just that our stomach is not full. Someone else should add to this, or correct me if I'm wrong. Hope I helped though. - disarm you with a smile

Well, I've asked my biology teacher once about the reason our stomach aches when we're hungry.
When the stomach is in need for energy (food), the muscles inside it contract. That's why you feel your stomach is hollow when you're hungry ^^ That's what I know, let's wait for the more "into-biology" members to come and answer you more accurately.
