Difference of global alignment and semi alignment

Anyone knows the differenct of global alignment and semi alignment ?
I got quite confuse :?:

Semi, it s mean Local?
If it's local, this aligment not take into account long gaps and at the algorithm level it finish to align sequenses when first zero is appear/ BLAST make only local alignmet.
