I need a mosquito to bite meI am doing a documentary for college about this particulary bloodsuckers, and i am planning on recording one biting my arm for the sake of science (and grades), unfortunately, when i capture them i put them on my arm and they absolutely refuse to bite me, they kind of keep walking over my arm. Note that i am completely sure it's a female specimen. Is there any way to "convince" it to bite me so that i might record it (as opposed to biting me when i am distracted).
Re: I need a mosquito to bite meyummy... malaria anyone? According to Wikipedia: "The females of blood sucking species locate their victims primarily through scent, they are extremely sensitive to the carbon dioxide in exhaled breath, as well as several substances found in sweat. Some people seem to attract mosquitoes more than others. Being male, being overweight, and having type 'O' blood may increase the risk of being bitten. Mosquitoes can detect heat, so they can find warm-blooded mammals and birds very easily once they get close enough." other than that, i guess all you can do is practise patience... Interesting problem.
Try starving them for a few days. Or you could just go somewhere in the woods in the evening. I`m sure you`ll get more mosquitos than you can handle. "In wildness is the preservation of the world" J. Hatfiled
Aren't they attracted to rich decomposing organic matter? i know at least that flies are...and the females that plan to breed. maybe you could try experimenting on raw meat and see how it works. and if they do work...i think you know what to do next...
Put them in a box and let them go hungry for a few days. After that i bet they willbe just begging to bite you

Just go work out for about 10-30 min. You should sweat enough to attract some if you go outside. Make sure you turn off the A/C when you work out.
This is just theoretical, I can't ay that you absolutly WILL get bitten. 43@r 743 1337 Ic3
