This is off topic, but this is how hemoglobin spelled in the dictionary: haemoglobin :)

That's another thing with international spellings. In America, it is spelled "hemoglobin" and in Europe, it is spelled "haemoglobin"

Protists??

Postby victor » Tue May 17, 2005 11:53 am

Hmm...anyone talking about killing some protists?I think the best way to kill them is doing an autoclave (some kinda way of sterillization I think). And about the spelling? I agree also..As long as everyone understand the point, there's no matter if there's any mistaken letter (maybe one or two letters). But in writting biology name (such as Mus musculus), it must be exactly right because it's a taxonomy problem isn't it?

You do not "do an autoclave", you autoclave something...
An autoclave is basically a big pressure cooker that could destroy most living thing by heating to 120C for 15 to 20 minutes. But depending of what protist, on which kind of surface you want to destroy it may not always be the best sterilization method.

wow... really? I learned something today. In all of the books I looked, it is written as 'hemoglobin'. All the authors are American, I guess...
