A quick chromosomes question???If there are 13 pairs of homologous chromosomes in a primary spermatocyte, how many chromosomes are there in a sperm?
I am a little confused by this question....Forgive my ignorance, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
The primary spermatocyte contains 13 pairs (=26 chromosomes) this will form secondary spermatocyte by meiosis.
Before meiosis its DNA content will be doubled and after meiosis it will prduce four haploid sperms which will contain 13 chromosomes (not pairs) each
