bio or chemwhat do u prefer
hahaha
i like bio ~~ but i am not good at it...>.< because of the language problem!! my first language is not eng...so it's quite hard for me to memorize their name or to understand the contents easily.... ie. chem results are better than bio= =/// i chose bio la~^++++^
Yeah yeah yeah. Everyone in their particular field thinks that the world revolves around that field. Biologists think the only important thing in the world is biology...the same for chemists, physicists. Heck, I even get it from my roomate who is a Political Science major, and he thinks the only thing worth anything in the universe is politics. Ever talk to a philosopher? "Philosophy is the discipline from which all other disciplines spawn from." Ever hear what PhD stands for? Doctor of Philosophy. Canalon, our local Canuk is a Doctor of the Philosophy of Biology. In my humble opinion, I say that the universe revolves around none of these fields. Rather, the different fields, disciplines if you will, are merely different tools to use to examine the universe to find out how it works. A chemist uses a spectroscope, a biologist uses a microscope, a physicist uses a teloscope, a doctor uses a floroscope, and politicians just have their heads up their rear-ends IMHO Kyle
When they should know that Biology is everything. Just kidding, but I just wanted to say that it is useless to choose between Bio and Chem when you can have both in Biochemistry.
Philosophy Come from Philein: to love and Sophia: Wiseness. And remember that Aristotle was one the founding father of biology. I'd like to be in the same group as this guy And just a note to put the record straight: I am not Canadian, I am living there. I am French.
LOL. I like the politicians... And even though being a bacteriologist, I don't even remember he last time I used a microscope. Probably around 10 years ago. NAked eye and Petri dishes are all that I need.
Re: bio or chem
What do you mean by "biology" and "chemistry"? Which subject you like more, which one contributes more to civilization, which one has greater explanatory power, etc., what? Ideology...is indispensable in any society if men are to be formed, transformed and equipped to respond to the demands of their conditions of existence. -- Louis Althusser, For Marx
I think what this poll was saying is "Which do you like better?"
I agree with kyle and patrick though... Biochemistry rulls!!! By the way, Kyle, my sister is at university sudying politics "As a biologist, I firmly believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Except for what you live behind in history. That's the only afterlife" - J. Craig Venter
*grins evilly*
I am an american. We see all people living in canada as canadian. I mean you no offense, and will stop if you wish me too. But many americans love making fun of canada in any way possible (even though I personally prefer Canada to America).
I have started a poll: Canada or USA?
Off-topic section of course... "As a biologist, I firmly believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Except for what you live behind in history. That's the only afterlife" - J. Craig Venter
