Help identify VertebraeHello.
I was walking near my neighbour's place where his basement was being dug and I found a couple of vertebrae from about 8-9 feet underground. In Peshawar, Pakistan. Could somebody tell me what animal is this. It seems to have 3 canals on one end and its really long, about 2.5 - 3 inches. I have never come across anything like this before. Is it some common animal bone or rare/ extinct? If somebody count point me in the right direction I will be very grateful indeed. Thanks. <[email protected]>
Darby, I think you are right! I had never thought of that. It certainly appears to be an animal molar. Could somebody help me identify the specie please? Thanks![/b]
It may be a molar, but at first glance (especially the last picture) it looks to me like cervical verterbrae

Yeah thanks. The Carnegie Museum has now also confirmed it's a molar from a herbivorous animal. But they are not sure about the species because of the unusually long length.
Horse/Elephant/Giraffe!?!?!
