1. My biology teacher told us that species is a group of organisms that ARE ABLE to interbreed with each other. Does it mean like if cats want to be in the 'species' category, they must be able to have offspring with other animals,like dogs??? But i found in the dictionary, it says: composed of related individuals that resemble one another, are able to breed among themselves, but ARE NOT ABLE to breed with members of another species.
These are two completely different definitions for 'species'!!!

2. What do 'primitive cells' in biology mean?

When you break it down there are two terms in each species. There is the genus for us is homo. the specific name is the sapiens. In our case we cannot breed with any other thing besides a sapien. But other animals like cats and dogs can breed even though they are from two different classes. As far as the primitive cells they might be asking for prokaryotic cells. Or something like that. Do some research google is a great tool.

Are you sure it is "interbreed" and not "inbreed"? Inbreed makes any sense here

based on the Glossary of Term in Cellular Biology book, primitive cells refer to prokaryotic cells.

What do you mean by "classes"?

Cats and dogs and another animals, even including human, ONLY can breed with similar species, where a species has some RACES. I think you refer to "races" here :wink:

Animals and human have some races, and they succesfully breed with each other (inbreeding).

Yes we are sure. Cats hate dogs and and mice hate cats. Dont you watch tom and jerry. They really cant breed though.

I believe the original statement might be more like:
