Can you get pregnant under these conditions?

I was under the impression that sperm died if exposed to air. I thought it needed to be a certain temp.
So my question is........ I had sex a few days ago and he pulled out..... To sum it up about 5 minutes later I went to the bathroom and wiped myself and realized that I had wiped his sperm into my vagina..... Not realizing that it was even near that area of my body... It has only been about 3 days since my last period... I should be in the clear right?????
After reading a few things online it stated that You can only get pregnant if your egg had been released and that is usually 12-14 days after your last period.
Am I in the clear???????

If you want to learn, yes you CAN be pregnant. And an additional thing for you, ejaculation is not the only thing that will lead to pregnancy. Sperms can be present in fluids that come during intercourse. As mith said, that method is a terrible one especially if your are in 14-16. th day of menstrual cycle. Sperms can live in vagina a few days, so if you are on 12 th day and used pullout method (or nothing), there is still risk. And one more thing, ovulation occurs about 14 th day, yes, but don't forget, there is always a risk of extra ovulation.
So, as a conclusion: Use a better method.
