What is Ecological Niche?

I want to know what is Ecological Niche? My book note that is the functional role of an organism within the habitat...does this mean the interspeicific relationship of organism , like predator / prey? If there is a snake and a frog inside the forest..how should i describe their ecological niche? Apologise to my poor Eng in advance
