Relative and absolute age determinationHello everyone
With respect to the history of life on Earth, why is it important that we are able to date past events both absolutely and relatively? Thanks for your help.
Absolute age is actually age relative to the beginning of the universe, which is marked by the time of the Big Bang.
Any measurement is relative to something else. I am 69" (147cm) tall. Which means my height is relative to 69 one-inch-long objects or 147 one-cm-long objects.
Well put, biostudent
"As a biologist, I firmly believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Except for what you live behind in history. That's the only afterlife" - J. Craig Venter
