how come some plants producing parthenocarpy (seedling), without fertilization? this will only waste their energy to produce those fruit for nothing..right? no seed=no embryo..i think...so..y?

Well, I must say thet this is a good point. I was thinking about it but I had no idea what for plants undergo parthenocarpy. I made some research and found information that (in nature) this is a defect caused for example by mutation. As you said/ wrote this is useless, since plants waste energy and loose opportunity to reproduce sexually (so that no descendant occurs).
However, I believe you are aware of parthenocarpy being highly positive phenomenon used in horticulture or friut farming. I am sure there are lots of people prefering grapes or tangerines without pips (hope it is a good word for those seeds ).

how if there is no sperm that come into it... should it-flower-die without doing any fertilization.

maybe it is better than not doing anything. once it make flower, should it die without get any aim?

i think this is not common in nature...rite? they seem they don't complete their lifecycle ....

y don't they provide more nutrients to grow vegetatively (taller) or growth more flowers or leaves whatever useful parts? rite ?

Ok, here are possible reasons: some plants, produce a seed with a fruit entirely by mitosis(asexual reporduction). However, they still produce fruits to have the advantage of dispersal.

Ever wondered how a plant knows fertilisation has occured? Well, some people did, and they found the answer. the plant gives the signal by short bursts of auxin and other hormones&growth reglators. By spraying artificial auxin and giberelins on plants, farmers can make plants produce big and yummy fruits without seeds.

Well, I can say that some plants undergo parthenocarpy/apomyxis because of some mutations occur in the ovulum chamber (at least that's what I learned from my college, ).

In normal pathway, 1 macrospore will do a meiosis and resulting 4 haploid cells which followed by degeneration of 3 cells and the remaining is just only 1 cell. Then this cell will do a caryokinesis 3 times to form 8 nuclei and so on.....until there's a fertilisation by sperms.

Well, in parthenocarpy there're many factors such as mutation on the first meiosis, sperm fertilisate antipods so ovum then develop without sperm, and others.

It have to be noticed that a fruit resulted from pathenocarpy still have seed, but inside the seed there's no embryo.

Ohh, I like Grapes.. and honestly, I've never been buy that seedles thing because usually I eat grapes together with the seeds..

hei, do not you know that most of banana fruit do not have any seed in it.

and others is the same. do not have the seed, in some case. hm... maybe salak. some of the fruit do not have seed.(just rise in my head, but not with a long time to think. so, i'm not sure it is a good example, but not so bad too.)

You have to aware about it's division which is Magnoliophyta which means "flowering plant"....so?:wink:

o..then tatz quite obivous to find the non fertilized ovary in watermelon~ milky colour i think..
