Question for pig dissectionHi I am doing the pig dissection in school, and I need help on a question and I was hoping you guys could help.
In terrestrial vertebrates, what is the advantage of having the surfaces for oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange embedded in deep lung tissue? Its not in my packet anywhere Thank you so much. If I find the answer before there are any posts I will let you know.

you are right, docbandoodles, especially in humans. But in amphibians for example, most of these adaptations do not occur. As Dave said, the main problem is water loss...
