Practical Exam

Postby azi_maizie » Mon May 15, 2006 7:50 pm

Okay, so I'm feeling lke I've left this rather too late to do much about it, but.....

Does anyone have any good tips for the AS biology practical exam tomorrow morning? I've looked through all experiments I have in my notes but I don't feel like I've learnt anything. What else can I do to prepare for it? Or any ideas what its actually gonna be about?!

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Sorry if this is a bit late... When I did my A.S, I seem to recall osmosis coming up (but this was few years ago so no guarentees it will come up again). The important things to remember though are to repeat the experiments as many times as time allows. Easy marks can be gained by clear and accurate tabulation of results with a properly labelled graph. Remember good technique and the theory should hopefully flow out. Don't let nerves get to you. I have an exam tomorrow morning as well. Scary stuff.

Good luck.

There are too many Daves too (of which I am one)

If it's not too late... just make sure that your lab notebook has all the details you'll need to replicate your experiments.

I bet it's too late...i did my AS exam on 16th too....are we talking about W1 paper? If that's what we are talking about then i must say that what came was not something that was in my notes...but it was in one of my past paper questions!!! :lol: So i simply recalled the procedure given in that question, i guess that's not too bad.

I myself got prepared for the enzyme questions, especially the immobilisation part, but i guess the examiner tricked us this time.

Anyway, best of luck to all who are talking exams this May/June. :D

I have my W2 paper next tuesday and i think i should go and read through my revision questions again, then it would be much easier for me to figure out the planing question :wink:

@jnkdna

I did my AS chem practicals yesterday, was a cool paper, i must say 8) 8)
