ChemoautotrophsWhat are some Unique Characteristics of Chemoautotrophs?
Autotrophs can be broadly divided into photoautotrophs and chemoautotrophs. Photoautotrophs use sunlight to make their own food, like plants and other photosynthetic organisms, while chemoautotrophs use the energy stored in organic/inorganic molecule for the same. These mostly are chemosynthetic bacteria as mentioned by rg which include sulphur bacteria, etc.
check this, chemoautotrophs can live in deep volcanic vents. They help some plants survivor thousands of meters deep in the ocean. Very special.
