What are the similarities and differences between muscles and bones?

So far, I have that both muscles and bones are connective tissue and that bones support while muscles help with movement.

Well, there are four basic types of tissue in humans; epithelial, connective, nerve, and muscle. Muscle tissue is not a type of connective tissue where bone is. Just a few points and terms to get you started. Bone has a calcified, hard matrix, non flexiable, non elastic and does not contract (get shorter). Muscle tissue is elastic, flexiable and can contract and relax (get longer and shorter). Bones provide support and also protection and function in hemopoiesis as well as fat storage. Muscles can exert force by contracting and they also produce most of the heat that allows for the homeothermic condition. Check out actin, myosin, sarcolemma, intercalatid disc, visceral muscle.
