What animal has the longest toes?

Postby Kuest » Tue May 02, 2006 10:36 pm

Hello,

does anyone of you know (and I hope so) what animal has the longest toes in proportion to its body-length. When you would compare it to a normal build human being, the toes would be 90-110 cm long.
Thanx a lot!

The animals with the longest toes in proportion to body size are jacanas, a family of wading birds. Some have toe lengths of 15cm but whether they are proportionate to 90cm when compared to a human i'm afraid i don't know.

Hey David,
Yeah amphibians and reptiles are my speciality although I do love all animals. For me, newts and salamanders are just amazing!

Any particular species of bat? I always thought bats had fairly average sized toes, but I could be wrong.
