Do any mammals have red eyes?

Postby Bio-Hazard on Wed Apr 05, 2006 4:18 pm

I was wondering what the possibility of genetic engineering DNA to form proteins that gave a physical display of red instead of the typical blue, green, black, and brown eyes.

Don't think any animals have red eyes...

There would probably be a necesary physics computation in able to have the proteins and bioorganism interact with the lighting sources provided to correctly display red eyes.

Seems to be limited to birds. I wonder if any land mammals have red eyes.

It's called albinism, and if not very frequent, it is not uncommon....

Physics computation?
The hand of God may well be all around us, but it is not, nor can it be, the task of science to dust for fingerprints.

Yes. Red-eyed reptiles are usually albino, but amphibians does not look like. Here they are:

Rats and mice often have red eyes I think.
