SSR or Microsatellite Markers

Postby Master DRe on Wed Mar 15, 2006 9:18 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm presently developing SSR markers on conifer species and I'm not able to remove the stutter bands. I have tried to increase the temp, decrease the primer concentration, modified the [MgCl2] etc...
Do you have an advice for me??
Thanks

Change the polymerase. Sometimes, enzymes have some kind of contaminations of bacterial DNA which can result in additional bands on your gel. All the best.
