Viroids

Hi everyone... I'm new here so I apologize if this is the wrong place for this question. I was wondering how exactly a viroid entered a plant's system. Do they come from the soil... the air... the water? Does it just depend on what viroid it is? If any viroids enter through the soil (root system), could you give me a common example?
