ecology vs environment definitionhello all!
I am asked to lecture on environmental awareness to high school students. I need help on how to simply differentiate "ecology" from "environment" to those kids, in a manner that they will easily understand. Your ideas will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much Sirenia
Sirenia asked:
Well lets see hmm.. For example, lets say that ecology would be the study of the students interaction or relationship with the classroom as a whole. The classroom being the enviornment in which the student lives and the set of circumstances surrounding the student in that environment would be the teacher/teachers, books, other students, etc... Where in the Philippines are you at? I lived in Olongapo for six years, on Luzon. I miss the islands Ken Ramos, Aviation Ordnanceman USN Ret.

hello kenthanks for the idea...but i just read ur reply today and the lecture was already an hour ago. anyhow, im glad that the lecture went smooth.
by the way, im from mindanao, far south from olongapo. my, there have been many changes in olongapo and the country since the 70's. it wont surely be the same anymore if ever you'll come to visit. Cheers! Sirenia
I am sure there have been a lot of changes since my presence there in the 70's. Marcos was still president or was just stepping down when I left and then not too long ago the volcano took Clark AFB and Subic Bay too if I am not mistaken. From what little news I gather, there is a lot of unrest and turmoil from the NPA, I guess that is what they are still called, I don't know. It has been a long time.
I made a lot of friends while I was there and I sometimes wonder how they are doing. I made Gov. Vic Magsaysay an acquaintance while I was there. He was a real nice guy. I used to spend time at his home in the province on weekends. Ken Ramos, Aviation Ordnanceman USN Ret.
