Question about Phylum And DIvisionHey I have a question in a class i am taking and I was wondering if i could get some help with it....
The question is as follows Explain the relationship between a phylum and a division. Any help would be appreciated hopefully before 12:45 am central time
That's really basic knowledge, I think. You make me a bit surprised by asking that. Anyway, I hope my explanation will help you. It will be too late, though.
Notice this taxonomy hierarchy: animal taxonomy: kingdom->phylum->classis->ordo->family->genus->species plant taxonomy: kingdom->divisio->classis->ordo->family->genus->species phylum and divisio are in the same level. But they are used for different frame. We use phylum for animal kingdom, and divisio for plant. E.g. Phylum Nemathelminthes, Divisio of Spermatophyta. I dunno why it is so. No idea what urgencies behind those different term. I need further search for that, I think. I never even inquire. thanks for you.
Phylum applies for animals and division applies for plants but both demarcates the same.
