Here is a good site to learn about Acid rain:
http://www.epa.gov/acidrain/ mostly caused by sulferic acid from emmisions Where I live it is not as bad because most native plants like the soil more acidic. (5.8-6) where alkaline is (7)plus on the PH scale but if acidity is too low then it is detrimental for various reasons. one is it locks up nutrients that would otherwise be available for plants, and also is a reason for fish decline in lakes. The coral reefs are damaged from acid precipitation because they thrive on alkaline base.http://www.oceansalive.org/explore ... entID=4709 "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these".
~ George washington Carver
NEVER MIND Marathon is not effected by acid rain b/c limestone, which is a base, in the ground neutralizes the acid to make it neutral
