I am doing just cheetahs for this paper and I'm trying to tie this into natural selection and survival of the fittest.

Survival of the fittest and natural selection? Try checking out Origin of Species by Charles Darwin from a library. It'll help you a lot. Here are a few more books that'll assist you with your report:

Cheetahs are a different genus than other cats. This causes them to be seperated and decreases their production.

Being in a different genus has no effect on the productivity of any species. Just remember that taxidermy is just labels us humans place on different species. In the natural world, taxidermy's ONLY function is to allow humans to separate areas of study in organisms.

From what I have heard, in humans a closeness of genetic diveristy can create mental disabilities, is there anyway to find how this effects not only cheetahs but other animals.
