Rectum infected?How did E.coli evovle so as to fit our retum?
& obviously why only E. coli?
Some E. coli are adapted to our Digestive tract. They are a common bacteria and hence they happened to move a lot into mammals GI tract. Probably helped adaptation, but there is no good answer to that.
For the second question E. coli represent 1% of the Aerobes in our gut, that makes it the most abondant on this category. But aerobes represent 1% of oour total intestinal flora, so there is no "obviously" here Patrick

Because if we evolved on Mars we'd be asking, "Why did we evolve on Mars?" Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.
