Who knows how the principles of gel elecrophoresis allow for seperation of DNA fragmants?

DNA carries a negative cahrge due to the phosphate group. When a electric current is run through the gel, the fragments are attracted by the positve charge. Smaller fragmetns move faster then the larger ones due, ther by seperating out fragment sof drifferent lengths.
