How to detect long genomic DNA after extractionMy genomic DNA is around 6.1Mb. After DNA extraction, how am I going to confirm that I have extract the DNA?
you can measure absorbance of light at 280 nm and 260 nm The absorptionmaximum of DNA/RNA is at 260 nm and of protein at 280 nm
--> when pure DNA is isolated, then the ratio 260/280 will be approximately 1,8 Now you do know there is DNA (or not) and how pure it is.
