Bio-rad....!!!!

Does anyone else have a problem with reproducibility in Bio-rads IEF 2D proteomic system. We're finding it useless actaully and by my opinion this system has a lot of teething problems

e.g. badly focused UEF strips, horizontal and vertical streaks, poor resolution even though be de-salt very well. Also are technique for preparation in good we know.... due to are 1D's looking fantastic reflected in our publications...

If anyone has a clue how to optimise and increase reproducability let me know... we've even made are own reagents (Buffers, loading dyes etc.) from top quality suppliers and accroding to bio-rads own specification but we're still getting problems. About 1 out f every five assay work bril but we are wasting a lot of money and time doing this (£7.50 a gel) and £250 on bio-rad reagents..... (per 10 gels) even the trouble shooter guides and bio-rad tech support can't give use proper answers
