Question about the jellyfishhey im doing my biology exam and cannot figure out the answer for this question..
51.why the jelly fish in wuestion 50 burst? (question 50: when a jelly fish is removed from its saltwater envirorment and put into fresh water it swell and burst)
OF course i can but i don't want to, becuase a straight answer won't help your knowledge of biology, it will just help you do your homework.
This is a pretty basic question, and if you read about osmosis you will undestand it and answer it yourself Regards, Andrew "I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I want to understand the universe and answer the big questions, that is what keeps me going" - Stephen Hawking
Okay, this is my first time ever writing in this forum... I hope this helps, I don't know if you have already turned in the HW or not, but here goes. (I love this forum! It is completely bevoted to BIO!!)
I think the jellyfish [kind of] lysed, like a cell does when it takes in too much water. uhhh the water tried balaced with the % of salt in the jellyfish... I hope this helped a bit!
