Is there a chain of science (biology) that leads from Darwin’s theory of evolution to medical advances? In contrast with it only leading to more “pure” science. I know this is a lazy on my part but I am curious what the impact would be on modern medicine if no one would have made evolution a scientific principle as some creationist would have us do
Well,without biology we wouldn't be able to have the taxonomic system which groups similar species. And without that we wouldn't be able to know much about drugs since most of them are tested on animals at first. Also we wouldn't try pig organ/hormone transplants.
Living one day at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
A friend of mine who has diabetes told me that the latest procedure in this desease is such a transplant. They take healthy pig pancreas cells and insert them into your pancreas. However, this procedure has to be made every 2-3 years. I didn't understand exactly why..

Thanks, but what I’m trying to understand is the role the theory of evolution had in getting us to where we are in biology/medical science today. If no one formulated the theory evolution, adaptation, survival of species etc. in the past, would we have the life enhancing knowledge and medical technologies we have now?

I think, it is harder to find any therapy based on the knowlwdge of evolution , atleast in the modern medicinal systems. Because, evolution is very slow process ,
its relatively faster in tapidly reproducing organisms eg. bacteria.
See , I have an example where we use evolution. See, to get the appropreate bacterial stain, we make the appropriate bact. strain antibiotic resistant [ for some specefic antibiotic ] Then , when we add that antibiotic, to the mixed population of bacts, only the appropriate strain bacts remain , [we have to confirm this by initially testing the original bacterial population for antibiotic resistance - this is not major pt. here ]
Here we are using the principal "fittest survives" . Although , if we hadn't formulated the concept of evolution, we could formulate this technique, isn't it? Its would have rather likely for us that we formulate the evolution concept from this experimental result.
So, concept of evolution is slow acting and thus not used in modern techniques.
But , as per I know, in most medical feilds, we use some principles of evolution, but the formulation of the treatement , the techis independent of knowing the concept of evolution. Oh harder to use English anymore...hummm.
