Mitochondrial DNACorrect me if im wrong but, the mitochondrial dna of a human female is the same to that of her mothers right? if that was true wouldnt all human females have the same mitochondrial dna??
yes your first sentence is right but all human carry the same DNA with her or his mother. ( I mean males have mitochondria too.

Well, take in mind that humans did not evolve from apes yesterday to humans today. This happened gradually and you can not state how many "primary humans" they were. We literally breeded with monkeys for a long time. So you see, there are a lot of types of mithDNA, even theoretically...
