Porifera: sponges - my fav the glass sponges Hexactinellida Cnidaria: Jelly fish - Portuguese Man-of-War (Physalia physalis) Platyhelminthes: flatworms - A Parasitic worms of the class Amphilinida (Amphilina foliacea) Annelida: worms – earthworms (Lumbricus terrestris) Echinodermata : Starfish, sea stars, sea cumbers- sand dollars (Echinariachnius parma) Mollusca: mussels (Bivalvia) Arthropoda: snow crab (Chionecetes opilio) Chordata: me and you (Homo sapiens) Nematoda Roundworms ( Caenorhabditis elegans) I surprised myself by remembering an example from each phylum, except flatworms and roundworms; I couldn’t remember examples of either but there are a lot of species in each. I remembered most from an invertebrate course I did over a year ago. I guess it did sink in.
