Creating a dendrogram on the netGood morning everybody,
I'm working in a web site made on php/mysql. Now I want create a big dendrogram (a 3D tree of about 1000 segments), which tools should I use? which software can I choose and how can I integrate the tree in my web site? I want also to have the possibility of zooming in my tree. Thank you!
EN, a very tough task. My first suggestion is to check bioperl.
I know bioperl can render image, then you will have a perl cgi, or php call perl using system command to render an image, then in your html you reference the just-generated-image. For zooming, bioperl image have zoom function, or you can try to use SVG by Todd Harris at CSHL, just google, you can find it. The only thing that I am not sure is whether bioperl can render dendrogram. Let me know how this turns out.
