xylem upper, phloem lowerWhy is the xylem higher in the vascular bundle than the phloem? Are there any advantages?

ah makes sense, our bio teacher blubbed about how the xylem has to be on top for better support of the leaf because it hangs the leaf as opposed to pushing it up. I thought the difference of a few cell lengths was negligible.
