TAE Buffer preparation

Please how do I prepare 10 M tae buffer containing 2M tris, 0.5M edta, 17.4M acetic acid and adjusted to pH 8.0 with NaOH .

DO NOT add NaOH to any of the electrophoresis buffer. Strong acid or base can not be use to adjust the pH of electrophoresis buffer. It will have increase the current and heat up the runner buffer. Always use Acetic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acids for adjusting the pH.

50x TAE needs the following:

242 grams of Tris base
57.1ml of Glacial Acetic Acid
100 ml of 0.5M EDTA

The pH will be automatically 8.0 or closer..... DO NOT add anything to adjust pH. Use as 1x or 0.5x. Good Luck
