What is deflected succession?Wasn't sure where to put this, I hope it's in the right place.
I know what primary and secondary succession is, but can anyone help me with this one. Thanks
It's the Plagioclimax
Human activities can halt the natural flow of succession and hold the ecosystem at an earlier stage - farming typically keeps fields at the grass subclimax. In addition to this, human activity might so alter the nature of the environment that a different end product occurs which is NOT a normal part of the succession.
