active transport involves usage of ATP molecules \passive transport does not.
active transport takes place against conc.gradient\it takes place along the gradient.
mol. enter through spcl.pore on the cell membrane \mol. enter along with the water flow
via endosmosis.

In active transport mollecules or ions move from at the region of lower concentration to the region of higher concentration until concentration becomes equal on both sides.This process require energy(ATP).
In passive transport molecules or ions move at the region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration until the concentration becomes equal on the both sides.This process does not require energy.
