Consensus sequence in Bioedit via CLUSTALW

Postby vl80 » Wed Oct 31, 2012 2:55 am

Hello, I am aligning about 100 sequences in order to identify some primer targets for a long range PCR. I used the CLUSTALW interfaced via Bioedit. In order to identify the primers, I need a consesnsus sequence with degerate codes allowed. I can not find any option to get such a consensus sequence in the aligned areas.
Please let me know if this is possible and if so the pathway of doing it.
Thanks a lot

In the Menu you have Alignment/Create consensus sequence; that should do it.

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
