HELPP Please! Unidentifiable Unkown :(I received an unknown in Microbiology glass and I just don't know what it is. Smell of broth is Pungent & rotten cheese. Gram Stain = Gram Positive. Arrangement: Strepto maybe staph? idk Shapes:Round ---Coccus. size: small (attached photo) (my first stain) (later stain, some may be pink because it was dying?)
Here are the test that i performed and their results. Starch Plate - Citrate Plate - Phenol Red + Gelatin Hydrolysis test not complete SIM Medium - Oxidation-Fermentation + MR/VP +/ - Oxidase + Catalase + EMB grew but my microbe is gram positive 1st side is mine 2nd side is E.coli Phenylalanine Deaminase - MIO - Casein Hydrolysis (Milk Plate) -
Still need help!My lab report is due WEDS 10/28/2012. Please help.
Here are my overall test results. I know that it is streptococcus or enterococcus. Test Results Starch Plate - Citrate Plate - Phenol Red + Gelatin Hydrolysis - SIM Medium - Oxidation-Fermentation + MR/VP +/ - Oxidase - Catalase - EMB inconclusive Phenylalanine Deaminase - MIO - Bile Esculin + Casein Hydrolysis (Milk Plate) - Motility - Wet Hang and Drop - My options for what my bacteria is are: Entercoccus facealis / streptococcus facealis Lactococcus lactis/ streptococcus lactis streptococcus mutans which i dont think it is because it isnt VP +
