genetic construct basics

Hi,
I have to design a genetic construct and I've been reading about the gateway system
And it all seems straightforward. However, what I can't find the answer to is how I get the the full gene sequence from my cDNA to insert into the construct.
Do you just have primers that sit at the very end of the gene sequence or am I missing something ?

Yes, that would be the most straightforward way probably. The other option is to get it synthesized.
