Experimental researchExplain what is descriptive research and how it differs from experimental research ?
In accordance to the names my guess would be that the first one only describes, how things are, look like etc., while the second performs experiments to recognise, how systems works.
E.g. descriptive ecology would tell you there are so many fishes in a lake and after 20 years there are different fishes. Experimental ecology would conduct some experiments to see why did it change (like eximining the temperature or chemical sensitivity of the fishes or their reproduction habits etc.). http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
Cis or trans? That's what matters.
